How long have you been with Acumen?

I started in November of 2022. I have been with Acumen for a little over a year.

What initially drew you to Acumen and our company’s mission?

My mother has Alzheimer’s disease and fighting Alzheimer’s is dear to my heart. While my mother is too advanced at this stage to benefit from medication, it means a lot to me to help others.

What is a significant accomplishment or project you’ve been involved in that made a difference in advancing Acumen’s vision?

I am in the Quality department, so a central role of the position is ensuring that Acumen produces safe products. Part of the adherence to Quality involves employee and contractor training on our SOPs and Work Instructions. I validated and implemented an Electronic Quality Management System this year, and its use has kept training near 100%.

Which of Acumen’s four values (People, Integrity, Innovation, and Perseverance) resonates most with your work and role?

Integrity. Integrity is central to Quality Assurance. Whether dealing with external or internal audits, honesty is crucial to the process.

What excites you most about the work you do at Acumen?

Contributing toward the goal of improving the lives of those suffering from Alzheimer’s is very exciting. While Quality Assurance is somewhat behind the scenes, it is an essential component of the process.

From your perspective, what sets our company apart in the field of Alzheimer’s research?

We are working on a next-generation medication for Alzheimer’s. This is much needed for millions of individuals. My hope for the future is that the effects of Alzheimer’s can be minimized.

Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies or interests that you enjoy in your free time?

I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend, friends, and family. Gardening is a favorite pastime of mine. I also enjoy ceramics since inheriting pottery equipment from my aunt who retired from the ceramics business.
